Mrs. Diane Baker

Mrs. Diane Baker has served as a collaborative teacher at New Hope since 2019.  Mrs. Baker taught 1st grade for 5 years in Virginia before moving back to Budapest, Hungary in her husband’s capacity as a career military officer. Her family returned to the United States in 2019 after over 28 years of serving as a military family.  Mrs. Baker is an Alabama native (raised in Chelsea, AL) and decided to become a teacher because of the powerful influence that her teachers had on her life when she was in school.  She and her husband, COL Don Baker, have four children – Noah graduated from Virginia Military Institute and is in the U.S. Army in Colorado with his wife, Sarah.  Jake graduated from Auburn University and lives in Huntsville with his wife, Mary.  Joshua is a junior at Auburn and Hannah Kate, is a high school sophomore.  Mrs. Baker is happy to be back in Alabama and enjoys teaching 4th-6th grade students in the collaborative room.  Mrs. Baker and her family reside in Huntsville. In her spare time, Mrs. Baker enjoys traveling, hiking, decorating and volunteering in her church.
