Our Mission & Philosophy

  • Mission and Philosophy

Madison County Health Services seeks to promote the health and well-being of all students, staff, and the community of the Madison County School System through a student-centered Whole Child Model, managing both chronic disease and responding to acute events. We believe in working collaboratively with students, parents, health care providers, teachers, and staff to ensure growth, academic success and promising futures. School nurses are the leaders who bridge health care and education - working to provide coordination of services, advocate for high quality care, and design a unique school-based health system. Our practice is grounded in ethical principles and relies on evidence-based research to facilitate the highest standard of nursing care. We believe that healthy students make better learners, and that school nurses play an active and important role in keeping children well in order to foster their academic potential.
