B.S. Special Education, Alabama A&M University
I would like to welcome you and your child to Mount Carmel Elementary. I know that we can make this a successful school year by working together. My name is Willa Wright. I am a special education teacher who works primarily with children with developmental and cognitive delays and with children who fall on the autistic spectrum. I am entering my year at Mount Carmel. I earned my degree from Alabama A&M University in special education concentrating in Mild/Moderate Learning Handicapped. I have experience in teaching grades kindergarten through eighth. Furthermore, I have taught in an inclusive classroom, a resource classroom, and a self-contained classroom. I am married to Casey Wright and together we have four children. Christopher and Keith. Both boys attend Buckhorn High. Kasie has earned her degree from UAB and Kayla attends Tuskegee University. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, lounging around the house, caring for my family, reading and doing yard work. Finally, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Denver the Schnauzer.
I am delighted to be working with Mrs. Kay Howard, and Ms. Angie Lewis. Kay has served as a substitute teacher in the Buckhorn cluster. She has been a full-time paraprofessional for four years. She is married to Mr. Hal Howard and they have three children. Ms. Angie Lewis has served as a special education paraprofessional for eighteen years. She has two children.
