I currently teach third grade and have been here at RES for five years. This is my second year to teach this grade level and it is so much fun! Before becoming a third grade teacher, I worked as the interventionist at RES. It has been very rewarding watching our students overcome deficits and reach their achievement goals. Over the ten years prior to coming to Riverton, I worked as a classroom teacher in kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade and as an instructional coach. I have been trained in several reading and phonics programs, as well as certified in the Orton Gillingham multisensory instructional approach. I received a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama and an M.A. in Secondary Education with a PreK-12th grade Reading Specialist Certification from the University of Alabama. I am so excited to be part of the Riverton family and look forward to helping grow our students.

My husband Van and I live in the community with our son Asher and our dog Winsett. When I’m not working, I enjoy watching my son’s sporting events, traveling with my family, reading, and watching movies.
