Mrs. Emily Hembree

Emily Hembree is coming to us from New Hope Elementary where she was an assistant principal. Mrs. Hembree has previously taught Kindergarten, first grade, and third grade at Owens Cross Roads Elementary and served as an instructional coach at New Hope High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Athens State University and a master's degree in Instructional Leadership from Samford University, and she is currently pursuing National Board Certification in Early-Middle Childhood Literacy. Mrs. Hembree and her husband Wesley have three daughters who are 15, 13, and 8, and an Australian Shepherd named Tucker. In her free time, Mrs. Hembree enjoys traveling to new places, hiking and being active, shopping at thrift stores, and reading a good book. She is excited to become a Hawk and is looking forward to getting to know everyone in the Monrovia Elementary family.
