Born in Texas. Raised in Alabama. Over 30 years away from Alabama. Served 22 years in the  US Navy, stationed onboard USS Camden, USS Chancellorsville, USS Sentry, USS Defender, assigned to MCM Rotational Crew Bravo and Crew Swerve. Assigned and retired from Commander Navy Region Mid Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia. Retired in 2011.

Married 31 years to college sweetheart, Susan Elizabeth Guttery. Four sons; Matthew, USMC SSGT, Justin, Daniel, and Patrick. Two dogs, Bailey and Charley. One cat, Muffin. Licensed pilot. Love classical music, meteorology, and astronomy. Love to read and re-read Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, and CJ Box Novels. My hope is to turn all my students into voracious lifetime readers.
