My teaching career began in 1991 when I began teaching Third Grade at Mt. Gap Elementary in Huntsville, Alabama. Between the years 1996 and 2004, I stayed home to spend time with my children while they were young. Since returning to teaching in 2004 with Madison County School System, I have taught Gifted Classes for one year, First Grade for twelve years, and Second Grade for five years. Legacy Elementary has been my home since the school opened in 2007. This year I am excited to teach Third Grade. Teaching is a great passion of mine that I find so rewarding! It is always such a joy to observe the excitement and amazement on students' faces as they learn so many things each day!
My husband is a World History teacher and football coach at James Clemens High School. Together, we have five wonderful children who are now grown and pursuing their own careers. We also have one precious granddaughter whom we love to spoil! I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, traveling, and scrapbooking!
I look forward to being your child's teacher and partnering with each of you to ensure your child has a successful learning experience! It is also my goal to instill in your child the desire to be lifelong learners!
