Michelle Tipton

Hi! My name is Mrs. Tipton and I am going to be your teacher! This will be my 8th year teaching, and my 5th year at Legacy Elementary. Before coming to the Madison County school system, I spent two years working at a private facility in Huntsville - Collaborations Child Development Center as a pre-k teacher as well as a ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapist. I also worked in Huntsville City schools for one year as a collaborative teacher for grades k-6. This will be my 5th year teaching Self-Contained at Legacy Elementary. I love teaching and watching little minds shape and mold into wonderful readers, writers, mathematicians, etc. My favorite thing in the whole world is when the light bulb turns on because a kiddo gets it!

I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in 2009 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I received a dual degree in both elementary education K-6 & Special Education K-12.

I was born and raised in Huntsville, AL. On July 9, 2006 I married by best friend. My husband Chris is my rock, he keeps me clearheaded and balanced in this life that constantly throws hurdles at us. With Chris came his beautiful baby girl named Rowan who I feel in love with immediately. She is now 17 and we are so proud of the woman she has become. On October 5th, 2007 we welcomed our first baby, a boy named Braden. He will be turning 13 this year! A few years later, on August 19, 2011 we welcomed our second baby, a boy named Memphis. He will be turning 8 this year! It is mind blowing how fast time fly's. We have two dogs, Bluto a Newfoundland/Great Pyrenees mix and Junior our little Havaneese. We also have a Bearded Dragon named Dinosaur who is basically the size of a dinosaur and the friendliest lizard your will every meet.

In a nutshell, I have always loved kids and teaching has been my dream since I was a child. I love sports, working out, and anything outside. My goal is to always create a fun and safe learning environment for your children. Thank you in advance for making this a great year!
