Mrs. Allison MacKenzie
I have been working in education since 1995. I am honored to be the school counselor at MCES. I work with all students to provide academic, personal and social growth and career preparation through classroom guidance. I advocate for each student to ensure they receive all the opportunities available to him or her.
MCES uses a school-wide needs assessment to determine the areas on which to focus my efforts. A student is welcome to meet with a counselor to address any concerns or needs. Within the counseling office, students have the opportunity to address concerns or celebrate a positive moment! In my role as counselor, I work to ensure students can apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills, and to plan for postsecondary options (higher education, military, or the work force. I work with students individually, in small groups, and in whole class settings. I also connect students and families with resources in the community. Teachers and parents can refer a student to see the counselor by phone, email, or fill out a referral form.
I am married and have two sons.
