Keith White

My name is Keith White. I’m fortunate to be a part of the Mt. Carmel family. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University and my Master’s in Curriculum Instruction/Technology from Grand Canyon University.

My teaching career starting at Lynn Fanning Elementary where I taught 3rd and 4th grade. I transferred to Buckhorn High School in 2005 to pursue a technology position. After a year, I decided that my heart really belongs with the little ones, so I took a position at Mt. Carmel in 2006 teaching 5th grade and then moved to 2nd grade the following year. I think I fit best here and have been in this grade level ever since. This will be my 21st year teaching. I was nominated as Teach of the Year in 2010 and in 2018.

I’m very excited to have the opportunity to teach your child. I put forth great effort in my teaching to ensure that all of my students gain a love for learning and that love will continue through their lifetime. As a teacher, I facilitate my students’ discovery and they continue to teach me about teaching. Teaching and learning are an infinite loop. I feel that learning should be a fun experience and that my students should be eager to come to school each day.

In my spare time I enjoy working in my garden, building things and spending time with my dog Anna. I rescued my Yellow Lab when she was 1 year old, she’s now five.
