I was born in Huntsville and graduated from Grissom High School. I graduated from Jacksonville State University with a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

I have been married to my college sweetheart, Randy, for 28 years. We have a daughter, Caitlin, who is a senior at the University of North Alabama, and a son, Harrison, who is a senior at Sparkman High School. Our sweet furry friend, Sugar, is a miniature schnauzer. When I am not teaching, we like to travel together. I also love reading, especially on the beach!
