I graduated from Guntersville High School where I received several awards including All County and All Area in Track and Football. During High School I joined the Alabama Army National Guard and retired later after a very successful  career. While pursuing a career in the military, I attended Jacksonville State University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education with a double major in Biology and Geography.

During my tenth year of teaching, I went back to Jacksonville State University and received a Master of Science in Education Administration. I have been Coaching/Teaching for Twenty plus years. My previous Coaching assignments were football, golf and baseball.

I assisted in leading the New Hope Indians baseball team to the State playoffs in 2018 and 2019.  My wife Becky and I  reside in Guntersville with our two Schnauzers Ella Mae and Earlee. We have two daughters Makayla and AnnMarie. We also have a Grandson named Zeke.
