Mrs. Kristyn Birdsong was born and raised in Scottsboro AL. She graduated in 2017 from Athens State University with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Educational Technology. She was inspired by some amazing teachers during her education that provoked her love and passion for learning. After teaching Kindergarten for two years, Mrs. Birdsong is moving to First Grade! The thing that inspires her the most is the amazing growth that she sees in her students. Although the beginning of Kindergarten can be a bit like “herding little kittens,” Mrs. Birdsong states that watching her students go from learning how to properly hold and grip a pencil to being able to read and write whole words and solve equations, is such a rewarding adventure to be a part of. She feels very honored to be able to contribute to the development of such a crucial stage in the lives of her students. The endless hugs, notes, pictures, and “ I love yous” is such an added bonus that money can’t buy! She looks forward to watching this amazing growth as she teaches First Grade. There are so many rewarding benefits to being a part of a child's educational journey. The future of the world abides in her classroom, and she is committed to give her all to ensure that her students grow both academically and socially.
Mrs. Birdsong is happily married to Brian, and they have three children; Nakomi, Kenton, and Peyton. Nakomi plays the piano; Kenton loves sports, and Peyton loves to ride her bike. Mrs. Birdsong and her family are very involved with their church. She loves to sing and play the piano. She and her family also love to go camping and travel.
