Mrs. Kimbrell is a native of Jasper, Alabama. She holds a B.S. in Microbiology from Auburn University and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University. She is also currently pursuing her Instructional Leadership Certification through the University of West Alabama.

Mrs. Kimbrell has taught a variety of science courses, including Chemistry, Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Earth Science, and Anatomy. Mrs. Kimbrell has been teaching at Sparkman since 2015, where she serves as the science department chair and currently teaches AP Biology and Physical Science. She is also one of the National Honor Society advisers.
Mrs. Kimbrell was Sparkman High School's and Madison County Schools' Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2020 and NABT's Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year for the state of Alabama in 2022.
