Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree, Social and Behavioral Psychology, Freed-Hardeman University Master's Degree, The University of Alabama
I grew up in Madison, AL with my parents, Richard and Mary Jo Franklin. Both worked in the Criminal Justice System in Madison County, AL for over 30 years. I attended Bob Jones High School as part of the class of 1994. I graduated Summa Cum Luade in 1997 from Freed-Hardeman University majoring in Social and Behavioral Psychology. I began my teaching career in the Fall of 1998 at THE Walnut Grove School as a Junior High Science teacher and coach. Our school merged with Meridianville Middle in the fall of 2000. I’ve taught for 24 years: 2 at Walnut Grove and the rest here at MVMS teaching Life Science, Math, Literature, and now History the past four years. In 2003, I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
I am married to the former, Christie Pyle, and have three children: Allie-19, Aubrey and Taylor, my sons who are twins-15. Oh and we have a dog, Patches, a German Shepherd miniature Schnauzer mix, I know crazy right!!! I worship with my family at Meridianville church of Christ. Hunting, Fishing, Shooting/Reloading, Gardening, Cooking, BAMA Football, and Reading, especially history-related, are hobbies I enjoy. Christie had to resign from teaching at Lynn Fanning as a 3rd grade teacher when she developed cancer in 2011. We just celebrated her 10th Anniversary in remission, post-Stem Cell Transplant : ) GOD has blessed us SO VERY MUCH!
