The mission of Madison County Schools Health Services is to foster the growth, development and educational achievement of all students by promoting health and wellness, in a safe and supportive environment.
A school clinic is operated by the PTA and is staffed by RED CROSS trained parent volunteers. If your child is sent home with vomiting, diarrhea, and/or a fever greater than 101 degrees, we ask that your child be free of these symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school. If the clinic calls to let you know of your child's illness, please come immediately to pick up your child in order to help us try to avoid epidemic illness.
A registered nurse is on duty at Hazel Green Elementary School during the school day.
Students who take medication at school must have their parents fill out a permission to Administer Medication form in the school office. Medication is only administered by the school nurse. Students may not keep medication in their possession. A log noting when and by whom medication is administered, is kept in the medication office.
