Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. Education, University of Georgia M.S. Education-Learning Disabilities, Augusta State University
Hi there! My name is Jordan Henson and I am the Special Education Resource teacher at Mt. Carmel. This is my first year teaching at MtCES, but I have been a Wildcat parent for the last 3 years and have grown to love the entire Mt. Carmel family. You and your student(s) are lucky to be here!
I earned my B.S.Ed in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Audiology, Speech Pathology and Education of the Deaf) from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!). I also have an M.Ed in Learning Disabilities from Augusta State University in my hometown of Augusta, GA (no, I don't golf). I have 6 years of special education experience, but have been a stay at home mom to my two boys, Cooper and Tanner, for the last 9 years. They will both attend Mt. Carmel this year in 3rd grade and Kindergarten, respectively. I have been married to my awesome husband, Nicolas, for 14 years (even though he's a die hard Auburn fan). I spend my spare time at the ball field and doing laundry, but I also love to travel and read!
I have such a passion for kids and education, but I am especially honored to teach (and learn from) the exceptional students in special education.
