I grew up in New Market and went to local schools. I studied journalism at Auburn University where I worked for the university newspaper, The Plainsman. Upon graduation, I was a news producer for WHNT News 19. Then, I began my master's degree in education at the University of North Alabama.  I started teaching in 2017.
