I am a native of Amite, Louisiana. My father is a retired educator, and my mother is a retired social worker. I grew up on a dairy farm in rural Louisiana and am the youngest of seven. As a former military spouse of a U.S. Marine, I was very fortunate to spend quite a few years overseas experiencing foreign cultures in Europe and South America. Prior to being stationed in Huntsville, AL, my family served in California, Hawaii, Austria, Yugoslavia, Chile, and Virginia. I was blessed along the way with three wonderful daughters, who have provided me with some really awesome grandchildren!

I am very fond of animals and currently have two dogs, three cats, and two goldfish. I love music and like to sing and play the piano. I am active at Winchester Road Baptist Church. I cheer for the New Orleans Saints & LSU Tigers faithfully, "Who Dat?!" "GEAUX TIGERS!!!" Teaching is my calling; there's no greater entertainment in the world than spending a day with emerging young adults!
