Mrs. Kari Curtis
Becoming a teacher has been my dream since childhood. In 1999, I completed my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and graduated from Tennessee Technological University. I was elated to begin my career as an educator. After teaching for a few years, I returned to Tennessee Tech, and earned a Master’s Degree and EdS in Instructional Leadership. For the past 19 years, I have taught multiple grade levels in both Tennessee and Alabama. This is my fourth year as an ARI Reading Specialist with Madison County Schools. Early literacy is my passion, and working with teachers and students daily to enhance and support reading development is an absolute joy. I am beyond blessed and thankful that I have been given the opportunity to fulfill my dream.
I am beginning my 25th year as an educator. I am from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, a small town just north of Chattanooga. Coming from a legacy of educators, I have seen the power teachers can have on students and their families. In 2014, I married my husband, Robert, and moved to Huntsville. We are the proud parents of 5 children ages 14 to 28. We enjoy spending time with friends and family, boating, going to concerts, and weekend getaways.
I am proud to be a part of the Madison County family, and look forward to continuing to live out my passion for many years to come.
