Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Ms. Kristen Bell has considered herself an Alabamian for almost a decade. She received her Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Claflin University and her Master's in Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University. She completed the Instructional Leadership Program and, most recently, received her Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership at Samford University. Ms. Bell’s background combines her two passions - education and communications.

Over the past five years, the Sparkman Middle family has been an enormous part of Ms. Bell’s professional and personal growth. Ms. Bell states, “I am blessed to be a member of this special family, and I am ready to continue the hard work that we are already doing. I appreciate all of our students, parents, teachers, staff, and the community for their continued support of our school. I thoroughly enjoy serving our community as the principal of Sparkman Middle School.” 

Ms. Bell is a member of the Greater Huntsville Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. In her spare time, she loves reading, watching movies, filming and editing videos, decorating, painting furniture, crafting, and doting on her two fabulous felines, Coco Chanel and Chloe.
