Dear Hawk Family:

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  I am extremely excited to start my fifth year as Principal here at Monrovia Elementary School.  I strongly believe that every great leader must reflect on the past and present to determine future decisions made and makes changes when needed.  As in the past, I feel it is necessary to continue with our combined focus of “Building Relationships, One Stakeholder at a Time” and upholding the  exceptional reputation held by the community of Monrovia . This year, I will continue to build the trust/respect of the stakeholders of Monrovia Elementary School.  Let me start by reminding you of my open door policy. I ask that you take advantage of this and feel free to contact me at any time as we continue to move Monrovia from “Good to Great”!

Each year we continue to move Monrovia from “Good to Great”!  With your support, PTA was able to provide the school with a total of $18,000.00 that will be used to update our technology.  Last year, we purchased 13 Cleartouch interactive panels for ALL Kindergarten, 1st grade and special classes. This makes a total of 28 Cleartouch interactive panels purchased over the course of 2 years.  With the help of our Student Council, we also purchased playground equipment and games for our students.

Thank you to all who came out to support us during our 3 “Spruce Up Monrovia” community events last year.  This year we will continue with upgrading our school with painting and other projects that will restore the character of our school as we prepare for Monrovia’s 100th year celebration at the start of the 2020 school year.  Please stay tuned for dates and times that we will come together for a few hours to support our school.

Again, please remember my open door policy and feel free to contact me at any time.  I anticipate an outstanding school year. I look forward to another exciting year of learning and I encourage you to become active participants in the school environment.
