Dear Hawk Family,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! Wow...it's hard to believe that we have been away since March 13,2020! I am extremely excited to start my sixth year as Principal here at Monrovia Elementary School. I strongly believe that every great leader must reflect on the past and present to determine future decisions made and make changes when needed. As in the past, I feel it is necessary to continue with our combined focus of "Building Relationships, One Stakeholder at a time" and upholding the exceptional reputation held by the community of Monrovia. This year, I will continue to build the trust/respect of the stakeholders of Monrovia Elementary School. Let me start by reminding you of my open door policy. I ask that you take advantage of this and feel free to contact me at any time as we continue to move Monrovia from "Good to Great"!

Each year we continue to move Monrovia from "Good to Great"! With your support, PTA was able to provide the school with a total of $20,0000 that wiill be used to update our water fountains. Last year, we purchased playground equipment for our students.

I am certain you would agree with me in saying it was a strange and difficult end to what started as a wonderful school year. As we start this year in a new way, we must remember our purpose. Our amazing teachers worked so hard this summer defining what "our" virtual start will look like and how to ensure EVERY student is successfully learning. I am extremely excited about this upcoming year and new challenges it will bring. As we start this year working together virtually, changes will be inevitable. Whether you choose to remain virtual or take a leap of faith and return to the traditional way of learning, we the teachers and staff of MOnrovia Elementary promise to provide the very best education possible to our students. We challenge you to ttrust and assist us in learning of your child(ren) as we are all working to achieve the same goal.
Sincerely,

Renee’ A. Headen, Ed.D
