Welcome! My name is Courtney Scallan and I am so excited to be part of the Madison County School System. Being a native of North Alabama, I graduated from Bob Jones High School and continued my education at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. After graduating with my B.S. in Elementary Education, I began my career with MCSS at Legacy Elementary in 5th-Grade. In 2019, I started at Madison Cross Roads in 1st-Grade, graduated with my M.S in Elementary Education in 2021, and haven't looked back!

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy connecting with others and attending activities/events that will enhance myself and others! I live in Downtown Huntsville, where you can find me sitting on my front porch or bike riding around the neighborhood or to Big Spring Park. Recently, I joined The National Children's Advocacy Center's Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC) to assist with fundraising, event planning, and advocating for the children and families in our community.

In addition to teaching 1st-Graders, I also work at Burritt on the Mountain helping brides and various companies make their weddings/events successful! Whether I am spending time with my family and friends or enjoying puzzles and books, I always strive to do what makes myself and others happy.
