I am so excited to go on this third-grade journey with you this year! Third grade is a big year! I will try to make it fun and exciting as we learn new skills that will stay with you for a lifetime.
I am originally from Hartselle, Alabama and grew up on a farm with Golden Retrievers and cows! Animals have always been one of my passions and one of my favorite parts of science. Growing up, I also really enjoyed history. I wanted to move to Egypt to study the beautiful pyramids but decided to go school and become a history teacher instead. I met my husband at Auburn University where I graduated in 2011. After I graduated from Auburn, I pursued my masters in Elementary Education. While my husband worked to get his law degree from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama, I obtained my masters in Elementary Education from Auburn University Montgomery. This was a perfect fit because I was able to teach another passion of mine, reading. I have traveled all around the world in books and met so many people. I am excited to share these travels with my students. I taught Reading, ELA, Writing, and Social Studies at Pike Road Elementary School in Pike Road, Alabama for the last three years. My husband and I are excited to be home and closer to our family and friends. We have two dogs, Stone and Ruthie and a cat named Bella. We enjoy hiking and watching movies.
