Hello, my name is Rachel Rhoades and I am a certified FACS teacher and am enjoying teaching Culinary Arts at HGHS. I graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Housing and Interiors and later returned to complete a certificate in FACS. Soon after, I moved to Columbus, GA to begin my teaching career.

After having children, I decided to stay home and homeschool until they reached high school. During this time, I began a cleaning service and enjoyed being my own boss for 7 years! Once my children began high school, they attended public school and I began working towards my Alabama Teaching Certification. Both of my children are in college this year and I am looking forward to having an empty nest!

Once I received my Alabama Certification, I worked at Sparkman High School during Covid with virtual students for the entire year. Next, I began working at HGHS and love teaching in their Culinary Academy!
