Kirsten Kennedy

I am Kirsten Kennedy, and I'm so excited to join the RIS community!

This is my 9th year of teaching. I have experience teaching every grade from K-8, with most of my experience teaching 4th-7th grade and STEM.

This year I am teaching 5th Grade ELA and Science.

I just moved to North Alabama this summer from Littleton, Colorado, where I taught in Denver Public School District.

I believe that all students are capable of achieving to the highest levels, and strive to create a classroom where students feel supported and empowered. Students can expect to work in teams, personalize their learning, and be creative thinkers.

When I'm not in the classroom, I also serve as a Project Lead the Way Master Teacher, leading STEM training for teachers across the country. My hobbies include writing, scrapbooking, and barre.

My husband, Cory, is an aerospace engineer, and in our free time we like to kayak, paddleboard, and explore our new home in Alabama!
