I was born and raised in the Colbert County area and graduated from Belgreen High School in 1997. I played basketball on a scholarship and earned my A.A. in Elementary Education at Northwest Shoals Community College. I then attended college at Athens State University, where I earned a B.A. in Elementary Education. After graduation, I worked in the mental health field until I started teaching in 2013.

I met my husband in 2017 and moved to Huntsville in 2019 and started teaching at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. While working there, I decided to continue my education and earn my M.Ed. in Differentiated Studies in Autism Spectrum Disorder.

My husband and I have been married for 3 years and I have two wonderful daughters of my own. I also inherited 5 other children and 4 grandchildren when I married my husband. We have two dogs, DaeDae and Atlas. We enjoy sitting outside on our back deck, traveling, and spending time with our families. I also enjoy refurbishing furniture in my spare time.
