Mrs. Hunt previously worked with Decatur City Schools, where she served as a middle school counselor. Prior to that, she worked with students throughout Huntsville City and Madison County as the Upward Bound Coordinator for the North Alabama Center for Educational Excellence. She aided these students in developing the skills necessary to complete high school successfully. In addition, she assisted them with college selection, admissions, and securing the financing required to attend college. She also has several years of experience in higher education as a college recruiter, admissions representative, and career services specialist.

Mrs. Hunt holds a Bachelor's from Jacksonville State University in Computer Information Systems. She completed a Master's in Personnel Administration from Alabama A&M University and a Master's in School Counseling from Capella University.

Mrs. Hunt resides in New Market with her husband, Curtis. They have three daughters, Chelsi, Tyia, and Tyrin.
