Career Experience: Meridianville Middle School

My name is Maya Ries and I teach in our Sensory Unit focusing on social and emotional skills. I attended the University of South Alabama for two years before transferring to Athens State University to finish my Bachelor's in Special Education. I then received my Master's degree in Special Education from the University of West Alabama. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and my golden doodle, Ivy. I love arts and crafts, doing my nails, and reading mysteries/thrillers. I’m also looking forward to assisting in bringing Best Buddies to MVMS this school year! Best Buddies promotes inclusion and friendship within the school and community. I am so excited to be starting my third year at Meridianville Middle School!
