Mr. McMillan was born near Los Angeles, CA, and his parents moved the family into a small town called Yucaipa, at the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains. He grew up in a church, which had a boys group called "Royal Rangers." He learned to love God, to serve people, to love camping and wilderness survival, and to have an appreciation for the outdoors and all thing related.

At 18, Mr. McMillan joined the U.S. Navy. He became a gunners mate aboard the Battleship Wisconsin BB-64 during Desert Storm. During his enlistment, he married the love of his life, Crystal Chester, and they've been married since 1991. They have two kids, April (23), and Jesse (15), and currently live in Scottsboro. 

Mr. McMillan has taught social studies since 2007 for 8th-12th grade students. He's instructed all college prep social studies classes, including AP Macroeconomics and AP World History. He looks forward to working at Sparkman 9 for many years to come.
