Mrs. Sandi Gibbs
My name is Sandi Gibbs, and I feel so very blessed to serve as the new STEM Instructor at Mt. Carmel! I
cannot wait to see your students’ smiling faces every day and help them gain new appreciation and excitement
for our fascinating world and the brilliant achievements and discoveries of the people in it.
I hold a degree in Wildlife Science from Auburn University (War Eagle!). While there, I worked for the
Education Unit of the Southeastern Raptor Center and conducted many education programs with numerous
species of Birds of Prey. I have been a substitute teacher exclusively at Mt. Carmel since 2020 and served on
its PTO Board even longer. Thanks to this, I have gotten to know and grown to love so many of your children. It
is my sincere goal to make STEM class an experience they look forward to each and every week!
A few fun facts about me:
I hate seafood, but I LOVE sushi! Go figure.
I have three ridiculous cats - Wilson, Sammy, and Audrey.
My husband Carey also has a Wildlife Science degree from Auburn and has used that as his excuse to
house two very ornery Harris’s Hawks in our backyard. He is a Master Falconer!
I can recite my ABC’s…. backwards! I can also write anything - in print or cursive – backwards.
I have my own litter of “wildcats” – my daughters Ivy, Scarlett, and Tessa (aka, “the Gibblets).
