My name is Ms. Katie Mae Hammonds, and I am excited to be a Collaborative teacher at Harvest Elementary! Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a substitute and a paraprofessional for three years. Becoming a teacher is an opportunity to have a positive impact on children and provide students with the tools needed to be successful in life. Some of my elementary teachers were the ones to have the biggest impact on my choice to become a teacher. After high school, I attended Calhoun Community College and earned my Associates of Science Degree. Next, I graduated from Athens State University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education and in Special Education. I enjoy the outdoors, building/repurposing furniture, and my horses. I am very excited to be a part of the HES family and look forward to a fantastic school year!
